Where Magic Happens!

Star Lights for July, 2010

By Cheryl Niggle

Serendipity Riches, 949-4711

Continuing this month:  an eclipse season, Jupiter in Aries is square to Pluto retrograde in Capricorn, the Sun and Mercury are in Cancer, Venus is in Leo and Mars is in Virgo.  Neptune continues to retrograde between 28º27’ and 27º50’ Aquarius close to transiting Chiron. These Aquarius degrees are symbolized in the Sabian Symbols by "A tree felled and sawed to ensure a supply of wood for the winter" and "A butterfly emerging from a chrysalis". Our endurance and contentment depend upon our ability to enlighten ourselves. We have within all the requisite resources to lead a happy and healthy life.   Also, Pluto continues to retrograde at 3º Capricorn.  This degree is symbolized in the Sabian Symbols by "A group of people outfitting a large canoe at the start of a journey by water." Think about the ancient Polynesians who set sail for lands unknown and then found Hawaii, all without modern technology and without a clue about their final destination.  This is bravery and courage in the face of the unknown.  As the world continues in crisis, more of us come to understand the need to shift our consciousness. This is a journey into uncharted waters, requiring clarity of thought, judgment, and feelings in order to become vessels for true love.

Tuesday, July 1st - Mercury sextiles Mars.  You've seen the television movie-of-the-week wherein the good guy leaps from the from the top of a building to the alley below, then gets up, chases, and neatly grabs the soon-to-be-handcuffed bad guy? Well, you may not be doing any building jumping, but nobody should mess with you right now anyway.

Sunday, July 4thHave safe and fun Independence Day!

Monday July 5th - Uranus turns retrograde in Aries to December 6th, 2010. Uranus, the planet of sudden and unpredictable change, then retrogrades back into Pisces on August 13th. Uranus will re-enter Aries on March 12, 2011 and remain in that fiery sign until 2019.    While retrograde, Uranus will bring a change in fitness, sports, and physical activities such as yoga.  We may see more accidents, sprains, and bruises in we overindulge in or take risks while engaged in such activities.  With Uranus (which describes revolution) is retrograde in Aries, we can expect a change in the way we use our bodies. We can expect to be more free-thinking in an area of life in which we have never experienced freedom before, but the process may be more challenging than it would be if the planet were direct.  The Sabian Symbol for this degree is “A woman just raised from the sea. A seal is embracing her.” We are returning to a deeper understanding of our personal truth. As we connect to our special sacredness, we also feel more oneness with all life. This is a time to become who we truly are with honesty, courage, love, and purity of soul and spirit.   Hold on to your seats! The times, they are a-changin’!

Thursday July 8th - Venus opposes Neptune.  Heaven help the sorry fool who speaks one negative syllable about one of your loved ones. You, of course, can say anything you want about them – and you do, freely -- but then, don’t you that right?  Hmmmm. Can you remember the old proverb about fooling all of the people some of the time, and some of the people some of the time? You're probably more in the latter group under this aspect.  There may be no good way to convince you of this until reality slaps you in the face and knocks off your rose-colored glasses.

Friday July 9th - Mercury sextiles Saturn, trines Uranus, and enters Leo.  Your gut tells you it's time to tell the boss exactly what to do with your job. If it weren't for that annoying need to pay your bills and rent, and eat, you certainly would.  You're an accountant/bookkeeper, strategist, public relations expert and political advisor all wrapped up in one neat package. Take advantage of this strength.  Be smart, think big, concentrate on the core of the matter and expect complete and absolute success.

Even if you don’t believe in karma, you're about to become happily aware of its reality. Circumstances that are seemingly beyond your control will put you in touch with someone you wouldn't have met otherwise -- so don't be irate if you lock the keys in the car – that’s “gacho.”. You know how you can say anything at all in Spanish, and it still sounds romantic? That's gacho, too. This is heady stuff, so use it discretely.  It's high time you made a sweeping change in your routine, and you’ll really feel that now. You in your heart what you need to do so what's stopping you?

When Mercury goes through Leo, thinking is more confident and grandiose. The attention now is on the goal--and the bigger, the more glittery the goal, the better! Details are not as important as flash and fancy now. We are more expressive, dramatic, and prone to pontificating, speech-mongering, and story-telling under this influence. We are also more compelling and convincing, as we radiate assurance when we speak or write. We may not listen as well as we normally do when Mercury is in Leo.   We are enthusiastic in our quest for knowledge, proud of your learning abilities, and believe in the saying that learning can be fun. Be careful of a tendency to be a show-off or a know-it-all.

Saturday July 10th - the Sun sextiles Mars, Mercury trines Jupiter, and Venus enters Virgo.  We're bursting at the seams and poised to ditch everything in favor of whatever happens to catch the eye next. There's nothing more stimulating than change. Look around until you see what you need and then aim yourself in that direction. This is a time of sound judgment linked with the ability to take in the big picture. This is a great time to think positively and take an interest in learning and teaching.

With Venus in Virgo, we seek meaningful relationships with a practical overtone. We want our partners to be precise, painstaking, and punctual. We may expect perfection. We enjoy – actually insist upon -- detailed and analytical conversations.  Virgo is a sign that is often misunderstood in our culture. The descriptions that we have of Virgo, and specifically with the lady of love, Venus, in Virgo, are the spinster, the virtuous woman, and the chaste and celibate. Venus in Virgo can, indeed be the “Don’t Touch Me Old Maid,” or course, but it can also be the “Promiscuous, I It Feels Good, Go for It Bad Girl.”  If we go into Greek mythology, however, we see that the sign of Virgo is represented by the vestal virgins. The vestal virgins knew the secrets of how to arouse the sexual kundalini energies within the body and were skilled in erotic Tantric practices. When Venus is in Virgo, we have an opportunity to see how we can best manifest our sexual energy. Are we suppressing it, denying it, or dealing with it? Are we in touch with the desire to make our sexuality part of our spiritual path?

July 10th-12th, the Dark of the Moon, is a three-day period beginning the day before the New Moon and ending at Sunset the day after when the crescent becomes visible. While unfavorable for typical outer activities, this time is perfect for inner work and for energy clearing.

Sunday, July 11th – New Moon Total Solar Eclipse in Cancer and Sun sextiles Mars. This is the second solar eclipse of 2010.  A total eclipse is when the whole of the eclipsed body of the Sun is blocked out and darkened. This eclipse, although total, will not be seen by most of us, even those of us in Hawaii, as most of its path lies over the vast span of the South Pacific Ocean. It makes no landfall except for the Cook Islands, Easter Island, and a few isolated atolls.  This eclipse occurs at 19° of Cancer, the sign of the Crab, closely conjunct the malefic Fixed Star Wasat, a star of Saturn, lord of karma, restriction, and sorrow and Mars, lord of violence, action, passion, and warfare.  Wasat is a malicious influence, awakening violence and destructiveness, especially with chemicals, poisons, and gas. People will tend to be pessimistic under this influence, though hopefully buoyed by a clear, authoritative voice. Those born under this star may find prominence in public affairs.  The eclipse is also conjunct a star of lesser ill will, Muliphein. Although this is a star of Venus, it is not particularly easygoing.  This aspect is even more likely to raise destructive and dangerous passions. Watch out for dog-bites, or werewolf bites if you’re Team Edward.  Muliphen really has something of a good heart, so it may alleviate the fire and wrath of the cosmic mood during this period.  The asteroid June also conjuncts the eclipse and Wasat, and the eclipse Uranus of commotion is retrograde and exactly conjunct President Obama's natal Juno.  Juno, the wife of Jupiter, can be fierce and bound by a sense of duty and social obligation. Her dark side also governs divorce, separation, infidelity, and open conflict between partners. This may not affect his marriage but it may take the form of difficulties with his “other wives” the country or the congress.   Obama's public and private commitments can come under scrutiny, so let us pray he can maintain his integrity.

This total solar eclipse instigates a global theme in play until the next total solar eclipse on November 13th, 2012.

What is going on with Wall Street? This is a major factor in the ongoing financial calamity that is still gripping the world, despite the crisis easing up from October 2009 to April 2010 when Saturn was in the sign of its exaltation, Libra. Well, now somber Saturn has moved back into calculating Virgo, thanks to its retrograde that began in January 2010.  When we look at the Wall Street chart for New York on May 17, 1792, we see that during this eclipse phase, Saturn conjuncts the Moon's north node and Uranus conjuncts the Moon's south node. Jupiter also conjuncts the south node. When we add disruptive Uranus into the blender, we should be ready for some very unusual happenings out of the blue.

The Lunar Eclipse falls within minutes of the axis of speculation (5th and 11th house cusps). This is very close to an exact square to the Wall Street nodes and the Saturn/Uranus/Jupiter opposition, creating a potent and stressful Grand Cross. The Solar Eclipse is conjunct Wall Street's Part of Fortune, square its Moon and Saturn, and in aspect to its Mars. The eclipse Mars conjuncts Wall Street’s Mars, which is aspected by the eclipse Juno. Wall Street has a Mars Return in this phase, which leads up to the Cardinal Cross chart of July 31
st.

This is very gloomy for the financial community, though it probably does not mean a total collapse. Venus of money conjunct’s Wall Street ascendant and opposes Chiron. Hopefully, this means fiscal healing. The eclipse Neptune of delusion and illusion squares Wall Street's Sun and Midheaven, so it will be tough for traders and bankers to get clarity or humility.
The eclipse is also mirroring a major flaw in the Fed's chart, that being their need for complete control. The Fed will fight to maintain its position. The Solar Eclipse is exactly conjunct the Fed's Mars of action and exactly inconjunct their Venus of money. Eclipse Mars is exactly conjunct the Fed's south node of loss and exactly square its Venus. This irritates the Fed's stressful T-Square. But that gives us a fair idea of what to expect in the public and financial arenas. The Fed is also having its Chiron Return, which wants them to lose some karmic baggage and prepare for a major restructuring.  This degree is described in the Sabian Symbols as follows: “Venetian gondoliers giving a serenade”. Doesn’t that sound romantic?  Eclipses are always turning points in the growth of our consciousness, after which life is never be the same. This eclipse talks about finding peace, beauty, harmony, and love in our lives.

This is the most important astrological event of 2010. A solar eclipse is Mother Nature's most effective editing tool.  “As above, So Below” and as an eclipse happens up there, things get eclipsed or eliminated here below. Whatever needs to disappear comes up in the days and weeks before. A total solar eclipse is a chance to get rid of old patterns of thought and activity. Now, we can clear out what stands in our way. A solar eclipse is positively changing if we learn to detach from our troubles and shift our attention to what is trying to come through.  A total eclipse of the Sun is also a chance to change whatever we want in a most profound way.

Although we will all feel the effects to some measure, this eclipse targets those of us with planets or points around 17 to 21 degrees of Cardinal signs (Cancer, Libra, Capricorn, and Aries) in our birth charts.

Tuesday July 13th - Venus trines Pluto.  Trying to talk yourself out of your currently insatiable thirst for mystery, intrigue, and anything that even remotely smells of the mysterious will be entirely impossible. Why not get your loved ones and BFFs involved in a fun game that has all those qualities?  You don’t have the flu. Your emotions are confusing you as to whether the person you're attracted to is really the greatest thing since California roll or just stale sushi.  Don't even bother doing the math. Despite the odds seemingly stacked against you, you'll do just fine and actually better than you can imagine. After who knows how long you have spent in outwardly eternal debates, you've finally found the magic key. Yes, you totally can prove your point now without offending anyone or living up to your reputation as a steamroller. You can always bounce it off a friend if you're still apprehensive, but pretty much, your intentions are golden.  Be sure to share the wealth with everyone who's had a hand in your success.

Friday July 16th - the Moon again hooks into the current Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Pluto Grand Cross.   Uranus and Jupiter in the first degrees of Aries are in opposition to Saturn. Jupiter's gifts often bear hidden twists or heavy responsibilities, and when opposed to Saturn, suggest that actions or hangovers from the past drag back the progressive forces, or those that wish to be seen as progressive. Uranus lends an air of surprise and even shock to our paradigms.  Leaders will seek to form partnerships to move forward, but the masses will resist their marvelous solutions, perhaps even to the point of rebellion, or revolution. Uranus adds a potent element of uncertainty, marking the catastrophic and disruptive influence of those over whom we have no control.

Monday July 19th 2010 - Chiron re-enters Aquarius until April 17th, 2018.  Chiron, the Wounded Healer, represents what is broken and how to fix it. Unlike a headache where the pain can be alleviated by a Tylenol or two, dipping into the darkest recesses of our selves and cutting through our best defenses to uncover what is hidden within us is a painful as well as painstaking process, but well worth the effort.  Chiron transiting Aquarius (the awakener means tat our drives are motivated by improving situations that most benefit us and our closest. As we heal the inner self, we can then in turn help others heal their wounds.  We may feel insecure within groups but also more sensitive to the troubles of humanity. We may also suffer through friendships. However, we will have an opportunity to come out of hibernation and join groups and friends with a cause, particularly those that heal humanity or teach spirituality.

Wednesday July 21st - Saturn re-enters Libra until October 5th, 2012. This is the second most karmic placement for Saturn in the zodiac of signs.  This is a powerful position for Saturn.  Your relationships, old and new, are apt to have a very significant, destined, fated feel to them.  If available, we may marry late in life, or marry a serious, stable person. We may attain great wealth and high honors, especially true for lawyers, judges, and arbitrators.  We are reliable and humanitarian.  We have the ability to create responsible and long-lasting relationships with people around us and are deeply committed and loyal to both intimate and business partners. During this transit, we concern ourselves with how we come across to others in a personal sense. Our physical bodies become a focus as well. It might be a time when we feel the weight of our age or physical condition, so it's an excellent time for starting a health regimen, diet, and exercise (ugh) program.  This transit transforms our self-confidence in a major way and helps us to discover a substantial base for pulling up inner strength and true confidence. This transit is terrific news for all of us who have been single for a while. During the next two years, we will be connecting and reconnecting with our soul mates and building the relationship we have been dreaming about.   As we manifest good karma in love relationships, we will all feel better about life in general.

Thursday July 22nd - The Sun enters Leo.  People are good-hearted, have a sunny disposition, and a strong need for attention now. We are also generous and giving but can also be proud and even a little arrogant.  When the Sun is in Leo, we are at our most dramatically persuasive, even manipulative. The influence of this Fire Sign sun is electric and dynamic -- it can revitalize the most apathetic among us with a bump of confidence and vibrancy. We can all benefit from the “It’s Show Time!” aspect of Leo: by playing the role of an audacious, self-assured individual, we begin to actually feel intrepid and sure of ourselves. Since Leo makes us eager to take a risk without a second thought, impulsiveness re places hesitation. Leo is often known for its ego, conceit, and self-absorption, but it's not as narcissistic as it may appear. What we really want under the power of this sign is heart-felt appreciation and affection. This influence is playful, joyful, and loyal.  This is a great time for planning and hosting a party, going out on the town for dancing and socializing, and going to the theater.

Friday July 23rd - The Sun sextiles Saturn and trines Uranus and Jupiter turns retrograde at 3 degrees Aries.   Don't you dare use the old “gotta wash my hair tonight' excuse, no matter who asks or how last-minute they called.  The event could be too exciting to miss.  Nothing is mundane, ordinary, or trite now, so nobody should be shocked. Everyone will get a laugh out of our wit, impertinence, and audaciousness.  And, while we have their attention, isn't there a little something we'd like to announce?  Something fun, drastic, and a bit sassy?

Jupiter moved into fiery Aries on June 6th for a three-month visit lasting until September 9th.   "Two lovers strolling on a secluded walk" is the Sabian Symbol’s description for this degree. Financial abundance and prosperity and richness of experiences come to us through our heart connections. The more we partner with like-minded people, the more we create a solid bond with our loved one and the easier life becomes. True love and simplicity of spirit create wealth in our lives.  Jupiter bolsters our confidence and gives us the optimistic sense that things have taken a turn for the better as we get busy with travel plans, educational and self-development projects, and general wellbeing.  After its backward motion in Aries, it will slip back into Pisces on September 9th and turns direct in Pisces on November 18th.

Jupiter retrograde is usually more benefic than other planetary retrogrades.  This current Aries phase may mean that we will only glimpse inroads into new methods in law, science, philosophy, and travel that will fully manifest after the giant planet goes direct again.  During this time, too, governments and other deep pockets ma tend to spend money too freely—and spendthrift reactions to situations may cause losses in business ventures.  At least we can hopefully control our own cash outflow.  My parents didn’t buy anything other than their house unless they paid cash for it.  What a novel concept in this day and age of plastic money!

Sunday July 25th - Jupiter square Pluto.   Tension arises as we struggle achieve our ambitions. It feels like other people and external events are intentionally scheming to ruin our every move. However, it may be that we are going a little overboard in our attempts to get our own way. The problem is that we want to make great changes in our life, but don’t have the necessary forbearance and patience to get the moves right. While taking action can undoubtedly have positive effects over the long haul, we would also be smart to find the best balance of confidence and endurance.  This could be a tough row to hoe. Career and success seem to be fleeting. Work requirements may stifle sensitivity and hold us back from growing. Tread with care.

Monday July 26th - Mercury opposes Neptune, the Sun trines Jupiter, Saturn in Libra opposes Uranus in Aries, and the Moon is Full at 3 degrees Aquarius.  With the oppositions, we could be under considerable mental tension or feel stifled by an ultra conservative mental atmosphere. We may feel compelled to change our minds now and have new or rebellious thoughts and forms of expression. Bucking other people's ideas may be in necessary but not especially advisable.   The tendency now is to break away from routine, ignore responsibilities, and try radically different things. This unusual, unpredictable behavior could challenge common sense, order, and discipline, pushing us into a time when we are volatile and unstable.  Oppositions between Saturn and Uranus are traditionally coupled with community upheaval and adjustments.  A chick in an egg may be a suitable analogy to understand the effect of a Saturn / Uranus opposition. Saturn is the structure -- the shell of an egg that has become too small for the developing fetus. Uranus is the natural instinct that makes the chick peck his way out of the egg and into the world at large. The old world has outgrown its efficacy for us and we have to step into a new atmosphere.  At the beginning of this process, though, we don’t know what the new world will be like.  We can, however, recall events when Saturn and Uranus first opposed each other on November 4t, 2008, and then again on February 5th and September 15th, 2009 and April 26th, 2010.   An urge now is to be bigger than one really is. There is a desire to travel or to reach out with new thoughts and fresh horizons.   Despite whatever else is going on, optimism and confidence abound.

And then the Full Moon adds a note:  it can bring in an ideal time for philanthropic activities, non-profit organizations, getting together with friends, and making new friends and acquaintances. It is also good also for inventions, even far out ones, progressive concepts, ET and UFO contacts, computers, and technology overall.

Tuesday July 27th - Mercury enters Virgo.  We can use the discerning and analytic elements of Mercury in Virgo to get clarity on ways that we can streamline our lives in the areas of health, daily routine, mind/body/spirit consciousness, and work and service. This transit can help us to focus on the details of our lives that we have not paid attention to in the past. Even though we may not be knowingly aware of it, our energy is drained due to deficient actions. For example, if we have borrowed a book from some one and we have been meaning to return it but haven't, some of our attention and energy being lost by having to deal with that unfinished deed. Use Mercury's residence in its own sign to clean up energy-sucking black holes. We will end up having more energy to focus on our highest priorities as a result.

Wednesday July 28th - Mars enters Libra.  We have a strong desire for diplomacy and justice and a strong creative urge during this transit. We may become indecisive when we run into obstacles, though.  On a good note, we can be social movers and shakers, directing great energy toward community activities of all kinds, from social reform to fraternal or club type activities.   Communal injustice can infuriate us, causing involvement with causes and issues even if they do not affect us directly.  We won’t want to act on our own now, preferring to have a partner or a group behind us.  We desire marriage or a special relationship as an outlet for our own gratification, and will seek a partner who is aggressive and energetic. While we might be aggressive \ourselves, and perhaps even selfish, we can tone it down with social refinement and grace, which makes us pleasant to be around.

Friday July 30th - This is one of two dynamically transforming planetary alignments this summer of 2010 (another comes up in August). A T-Cross of six planets, all forming very hard, stressful aspects of Mars and Saturn conjoined at 0° Libra making 180° oppositions to the Moon, Jupiter retrograde, and Uranus retrograde in early Aries and a 90° square to Pluto in Capricorn.  Also, Mercury trines Pluto.

Those with natal planets near the early cardinal points or late degrees of fixed signs will be the most affected.  These transits deal with life priorities, and how we can be better be organized or structured as well as our expectations and general outlook on life, and how we can become realistic, mature, and emotionally balanced state. We may be called upon to update our targets and goals, particularly in business. We may need to pare down our endeavors and concentrate our energies on fewer projects of higher purpose.   Stagnant situations or blockages make us ask if our expectations are realistic.  Concentration and focus is more intense than usual and we can successfully understand the deeper meanings of things. Communications are apt to be profound and important. This energy favors examination and investigation of secrets and of getting to the bottom of an issue. Career insights and breakthroughs are possible. We might discover that unconventional remedies to life's problems or new directions and paths are necessary. We could find a teacher or guide, a fresh approach to career, and so on. This is a good time to look into the terms of contracts, promises, and advertisements.  A side effect of this transit is that we may become somewhat stifled. A tendency now is to break away from routine, ignore duties and responsibilities, and to try new and different behavior. This unusual activity could challenge our sense of order and discipline, sending us into a state when we are unpredictable, even unstable. On the physical level, the transit of Mercury trine Pluto favors finding lost items.

ARIES (March 21-April 20):  Rams, you need to be careful this month if you wish to sidestep obstacles to burying long-standing resentments either to or from you. Job or school demands attention and unattended things can hit the fan when you’re not looking.   The aspects underscore commercial endeavors, partnership assets, and a healthy state of mind, all of which can bring helpful information.  Investigate agreements band contracts.  Asking the right questions can get you the right answers.

TAURUS (April 21-May 21):  This is an extremely stressful month and you need to promise yourself to find time to do the things you really enjoy along with all your hard work. If you’re going to sweat, make it over something sinfully pleasurable. Give credence to your ideas about how to define and refine your endeavors. Some of them will miss the mark, but others will be spot-on. With effort, you may be able to increase your image from neophyte to expert.  Expect money increases if you can convince financial partners to back you.

GEMINI (APRIL 22-June 21):  Twins, partnerships and relationships may languish a little as misunderstandings abound. On the plus side, there is the possibility of a new romantic interest if you’re in the mood to pursue it.  Watch, though, for professional and interpersonal partnerships that may appeal to you, but that might be unreliable.  The key phrase here is “appeal to you” and “unreliable.”   Although you can be very considerate and thoughtful, these traits may be missing in others this month.  Be discerning.

CANCER (June 22-July 23):  As long as you can steer clear of impulse purchases, then you can vault yourself into an exceptionally strong financial position by the end of July. You have had serious plans and ambitions for some time, and as my mentor and friend, Tookie, used to say, “Strike while the iron is heavy...”  ou may be overcome with a desire to organize, schedule, and nail down plans, which can happen with good communications.  Keep the needs of others in mind while you are laying groundwork and taking action.  People will support you, provided that you are perfectly honest with them.

LEO (July 24-August 22):  Big Cats, your biggest weakness this month is that you have great plans but cannot find the ways and means to put them into practice all on your own. A friend may be able to guarantee you success if you incorporate their idea with one of your own.  Ever hear the old phrase, “Don’t shoot the messenger?” Since everyone is trigger happy this month, it is in your best interest to leave the delivery of your communications until later, and also to filter and forgive some of the points you hear from others.

VIRGO (August 23-September 23):  Career insights and breakthroughs are promising in July. You might decide that unconventional remedies to your problems or new directions and paths are necessary. You could find a teacher or guide, too, if you keep eyes open.  You are frustrated when you don’t realize the profits you expected n a sure thing. People frequently forget to factor you in when it comes to competition.  They are wrong now, but that’s okay.  They will be looking the other direction when your train pulls into the station and knocks theirs off the track.  Emotional conflicts are inevitable, but just stay in your truth and you’ll win the day.

LIBRA (September 24-October 23):  Try to take things easy in this month, especially before the 15th of the month.  You really need a break during this quite exhaustive time in your life. , Excitement is building again, predominantly in the area of romantic relationships, if you are available.    A tiff over money could become a screaming disagreement.  While you my be inclined to keep yelling, it would be much less traumatic if you wait until next month to make your case.

SCORPIO (October 23 -November 21):  Career insights and breakthroughs are possible, despite the hectic energy.  You can discover that unconventional cures or new directions for life's problems and pathways are required. Find a teacher, mentor, or guide to help you make progress. After mid-month, some conflicts will be hard to avoid. Nevertheless, you could get inspiring results from a project or association, but remember, a “something for nothing” attitude will get you…nothing.

SAGITTARIUS (November 22-December 21):  Owing to the influence of your mental judgment now, you may have a preference for physical activity in your leisure time. Go ahead and cultivate some relaxing pastimes but don’t forget to keep your nose to the grindstone when it is required.    You should have ample time to examine your personal and professional relationships with an eye toward firming up the ones that work and saying bye-bye to the ones that don’t.

CAPRICORN (December 22-January 20):  This month is certainly challenging for you, so make an effort to be dispassionate about even those matters dearest to your heart.  You can overcome, despite the opposition.  Your sense of self-control can make this an unbelievably positive month, with some vital relationships being formed as a result.  You need to guarantee others the chance to speak their piece, though. Discuss your goals and opinions with loved ones so that they can better understand your positions and the reasons for your actions, and they will support you completely.

AQUARIUS (January 20-February 18):  An old adage tells us wisely that we should always look before we leap.  Remember this, as the warning is strongly valid for you this month. An enticing possibility of some fast money seems to be too good to be true and that is because it us!  Think big, but stay tuned in to the facts.  This pertains especially to those that could impede your progress once you start to move your great ideas from “dreams” to “reality.”  Keep your emotions under control until the end of the month.

PISCES (February 20-March 20):  Trust others, but most carefully, this month. A difficult emotional problem with someone should be solved discretely if we resolved nearly.  Don’t text your pinions to friends or post them on your social-networking sites.  Even if you’re right, this just inflames the passions.  If money matters present difficulties later in the month, take control of the situation, trim your expenditures where possible and save what you can.  The crunch should then fix itself in August.

Star Lights for June, 2010

By Cheryl Niggle

Dear Friends: Welcome to Summer - almost!   The warm air and sunny skies
here in Hawaii feel wonderful! Wherever you are, may this column greet you
with peace, balance, and harmony!  We are going to need all of that this month.
Many blessings to all of you during this coming season!

Continuing in June:  Neptune is retrograde in Aquarius and Pluto is retrograde

in Capricorn.

Tuesday June 01st - Neptune stationed retrograde yesterday at 28 degrees of Aquarius and will remain retrograde until November 6th or 7th when it goes direct at 25 degrees Aquarius. If you have natal planets or angles between 25 and 29 degrees of the fixed signs (Scorpio, Taurus, Aquarius and Leo), then you will be in a states of Neptunian illusion, delusion, confusion, or more happily, initiation.

This initiation process makes possible development through better understanding

of the unknown. For those of you who are foundering with no clue where you are going or what you should do next, perfect!  You have a chance to chart a good course. You are able now to successful ride life’s rapids intuitively rather than with just logic and reason. Dream!  Envision!  Listen!  Your inner wisdom can help you get where you want to go and who you really are.

Wednesday, June 2nd – Mars sextile Saturn.  Use your excess energy to do a tiny but necessary job.  Your intuition should tell you that it is time to speak to the boss about your job. If it weren't for that pesky need to pay your bills -- and eat – and have a place to live -- you might tell him or her exactly what to do with the job –

but don’t.  You're a multi-taking combination of bookkeeper/accountant, corporate planner, and political advisor at the moment. What you end up doing with all these great skill sets is up to you, but if you're smart, you'll think big, aim at the core of the situation, and expect nothing but complete and total success.

Friday, June 4th – Mars opposition Neptune.  Don’t demand that others to do the things that you don’t want to do yourself.  No, this isn't your sole turf any more. It's too bad, because you're in control on your home territory. Where you’re at right now, you can't even get steady footing, much less give orders to others around you. Stay cool, and keep an eye out for a different arena in which you can perform as

the one in charge.

Sunday, June 6th – Jupiter enters Aries for the first time in nearly 12 years.

As a Piscean, I’m sorry to see generous Jupiter leave my sign.  However, we can

all develop the area of our life linked with Aries in our individual charts.   Generally, this transit is about loving freedom and being a spontaneous seeker of truth.  We

are almost always blessed with incredibly good health and personality-wise, can be outgoing, generous, and quite assertive.  Sometimes, though, we can be rude and overbearing, so check your verbal filters.  We are willing to take on large projects and pursue them way beyond what others are willing to do.  Sometimes we can become overzealous and dog a matter to the annoyance of others.  "Rushing in where angels fear to tread" is the phrase that comes to mind.  You may become a leader in education, religious, philosophical, and spiritual matters. Jupiter’s quest

for meaning and purpose in Aries drives a motivated leap of faith into what truth

and justice.

Monday, June 7th – Mars enters Virgo.   This seven-week transit is helpful for people whose work requires a boatload of attention to detail.  Some occupations associated with this placement are precision machinists, craftsmen, surgeons, nurses, and health care professionals in general. This is the sign of the perfectionist.  You will pursue your personal desires in a practical and methodical manner. You may

be critical if you run into opposition.  You are very skillful in your work.  You are precise and appreciate being recognized for your attention to detail.  You will not want to take action unless there is a practical reason to do so.  If some cases, you get so wrapped up in details that you lose sight of the big picture.  You need to see the forest as well as the trees.  Also, Mars quincunxes Uranus.  You may have to suddenly change plans if something unexpected happens.  Do something you've been thinking about for a long time. Whether it's yoga, line dancing, or a watercolor class doesn't matter. The point is to try something new. From today for four days, Mercury joins in and activates a Fixed T-square involving Jupiter, Uranus, and Saturn.

Tuesday, June 8th – Jupiter conjuncts Uranus.  This is the first of three pairings, the balance coming, September 19th of this year and January 4th of next year. You may currently feel like life is like a roller coaster ride – wow! -- full of surprising twists and turns which offer both fear and excitement. This is a time when you are willing to try new things. In fact, you may feel that you have little choice. The energy is compelling you to take risks that you never thought you could or would, normally. And woes betide anyone who stands in the way of your new-found need for freedom. You want to be left to your own devices, even though they may seem odd to those know and love you.  I remember the time when I worked at the Honolulu and was standing in front of Mari, the big elephant, taking a picture, and she decided to come straight at me, and fast!  You are everyone’s elephant right now.  Everyone would be wise jump out of your way. However, you would also be wise to show some restraint when appropriate. A complete disregard of rules and regulations can prove dangerous in some situations. Look instead for opportunities for travel, study, technical, esoteric and scientific pursuits. Also, Mercury trines Saturn.  This is a good time for financial discussions or to make business decisions about budgets.  This transit is ideal for organizing or paying attention to important matters, and for serious buckling down in general, but it is not particularly fun or frolicsome. Try to take advantage of your amplified clarity and sense of reality by employing your logical mind to resolve a problem that has been bugging you.  Tying up loose ends will be quite rewarding now -- so strike while the iron is heavy, as my late friend and boss, Tookie, used to say. . Start early and resolve to stay late if need be. You'll be so darned proud of yourself tomorrow, you won't be able to stand it!

Wednesday, June 9th – Mercury squares Neptune.  This is a bad day to make any life-changing moves or decisions, judgment may be clouded.  If you don't have a someone trustworthy t watch your back, such as a baby sitter, bodyguard, chaperone, or personal trainer, you should make sure you have at least one solid referral or back up plan on hand. You'll need all the help you can muster to resist dozing off. Then again, why not just take a sick day and just go with the flow?

Thursday, June 10th – Mercury enters Gemini.  This two-week transit will trigger lots and lots of talk and mental activity.  You love conversation, gossip, and information. You are a fast talker who likes to collect and network knowledge and data. You enjoy books, letters, magazines, the media, computers and anything else that helps you learn and communicate.  Also, Mercury sextiles Jupiter and Uranus.  It is time to reap the benefits of your plans and hard work. Right now, you have beaucoup ideas and opportunities for expanding your horizons and reaping rewards from those in high places. Make the most of this sunny time, but don't overdo it. Remember to prioritize or you will fritter away the wonderful opportunities that arise during this phase of your life. Education is the key to success now. The more you learn, the more you will be able to apply.   This is a good time for long distance communication. Your sense of humor is heightened and your social status enhanced. You have a tendency to be in the right place at the right time. This is excellent for teaching, writing, lecturing, advertising, promotions, legal decisions, and religious studies, applying for college, travel, and buying or selling property. Just watch out for overconfidence and laziness.  This is also an opportune time to for meetings or organized group activities, to work or play online, and to take part in activities involving computers, science, or metaphysics. Unexpected gains may be realized through such media.  Intuition is strong, and insights seem to come from "out of the blue". Original, creative ideas are easy to come by now, and progressive conversations can take place. It's all good -- from your point of view, at least. Luck will be on your side, as your uncanny sense of timing will demonstrate. In truth, though, luck has nothing to do with it. It's your willingness to let go of the steering wheel and let the universe drive.

Friday, June 11th – Mercury squares Mars.  Rash words, impulsive decisions, rampant spending, and all sorts of reckless behavior invite trouble.  This particular astrological time period should come with a mandatory warning label to be worn by the temporary purveyor of said energy until the effects have passed. What might that label read? 'For your own safety, avoid irritating me -- and if you do, hide the scissors.

Saturday, June 12th – New Moon at 21 degrees of Gemini.  This is a good day to give a presentation or write a report.  The New is in this mutable air sign gives us a moment to initiate self-expression and the flow of information. Old, unyielding systems of thought and communication can splinter now, to make way for rearranging perspectives. During the extremely intuitive time of the new Moon, this rush of ideas can lead to brand new visions and solutions.  As the new Moon dawns, the mind goes up tempo and the nervous system is more receptive. Gemini's quickness can send us on down a twisted and disconnected path. With fragmented feelings flying every which way, you might experience a lot of uncertainty.  What's collected now, all these bits and pieces, should be realized more fully at the full Moon.  All new Moons are delicate times when we're more open psychically. Try to minimize the mental mania with meditation, some silence, or calming music. Hematite is a great stone for grounding, too.

Also, Venus sextile Saturn.  You may have to work overtime to finish a task, albeit a pleasant one.  I love to watch my cats sleeping, because their little furry faces take on a certain look of contentment and satisfaction. You know that look -- the one that says they are so comfortable and so charming that there's no way you could ever move the little muffin off your lap, no matter how badly you want to move. You can expect to wear that look yourself all day. Lucky you!  And, before you call a friend to bellyache ad nausea about how weird or how different your current flame is, think about it. Who's really changed here?  You're attracted, but for the life of you, you can't figure out why. Think of this as a gift, and don't shake the box until it's time to open it.

Sunday, June 13th – Venus quincunx Neptune.  Love, money, or appreciation may be scarce.  You just can't seem to stop replaying that offhand comment someone made over and over in your mind. It's time to figure out why or perhaps, just to forget it.

Monday, June 14th – Venus enters Leo.  Let your charming manners do their magic during this transit.   Express love heartily and creatively and enjoy fun and spontaneity within relationships. You will take great pride in your partner. You will also value appearances, and may be proud of your possessions.  With Venus in Leo, you have an opportunity to reinvent your values so that they are rooted in your own unique experience. Once your values are clarified, the natural inclination is to want to share them with others, to connect and link-up with like-minded souls who support your individuality and ingenuity. This can also be a time of major heart opening. When Venus is in Leo, you have an opportunity to liberate your hearts and to break free from inhibitions or beliefs that have kept your heart from being fully opened in the past. Also, Venus trines Uranus.  Show love for someone in a sexy, unexpected way.  Finally, the world and the people around you seem to be moving together at a pace you're comfortable with.  Sure, it's hectic, but at the moment, it suits you just fine. Just remember that getting everything up to speed isn't the problem. Helping everything to stay there, in synch, is.  Can you really meet the cutie of your dreams? Well, if you'd stop looking for loopholes, you could.  Is this it? You bet.

Tuesday, June 15th – Venus trines Jupiter and Mars trines Pluto.  It's definitely time to say I Do -- or I Do, too -- whether it's about marriage, cohabitation, or just a declaration of affection. You can relax, too. This is no fly-by-night emotion, either.  Clear out the clutter in your life today.  For a while now, you've been trying to make every move and every word count. You've done a fine job of that, and you're about to be rewarded. Whether it's in the financial or emotional sector doesn't matter -- or it won't until you meet up with those hearty congratulations.  You're operating like a well-oiled machine because that's exactly what you are now. Be merciful to others who aren't quite so blessed in the departments of assertion and precision.

Saturday June 19th - The Sun now joins Jupiter, Uranus, and Saturn in a Grand Cross for the next seven days.   Yikes!  The combination of Jupiter and Uranus opens the thinking process and potentials so that we can more readily accept change, and this is highly advantageous in view of the upcoming stressors between Saturn and Pluto and then 2011’s square of Uranus and Pluto.  At the Summer Solstice coming up, the Sun enters Cancer at 0 degrees and makes an exact challenging square to Jupiter and Uranus.  Pluto, meanwhile, is tied into this aspect as well as to an opposition the Solstice Sun, foretelling a period of immense transformation.

Just a few days later, on June 26, we will see a Full Moon partial eclipse in Capricorn, exactly conjunct Pluto and in reach of a square to Jupiter and Uranus.  This is a potent lunar happening that additionally ties Saturn and Mercury into the Cardinal Grand Cross. This is the event that will set wheels in gear.  The Grand Cross is a commanding configuration that creates opposition that explodes into disagreements but eventually pledge.  Our refusal to go along with change will be outted under these circumstances and we will have to let go in order to ride the big waves into future shores.

Causing difficulties is that Uranus is stationary at the 0 degree point where it is at its most forceful.  Uranus asks us to be authentic – to seek perfection at its best and to divest of whatever keeps us from achieving our highest purposes and living a life of joy, compassion, and cooperation.

Monday, June 21st – Happy Summer Solstice as the Sun enters Cancer.  For the next four weeks, focus on the area of your chart that is associated with Cancer.  During this transit, you are a caring and nurturing individual with a strong need for the comfort and love of family. When the Sun is in Cancer, things may get a little moody, fearful, and emotional. While Cancer motivates us to reflect on our pasts and to draw loved ones near and nurture others without asking for nurturing in return, this Moon-ruled Water Sign can really make us grumpy. That said, Cancer could be a time of heightened emotional sensitivity, a time when the mental connections born under the just-passed Gemini Sun move to a more intimate plateau. Flirtatious affections take on a greater gravity during this time as the Cancer Sun exposes our emotions and lays bare our vulnerabilities. Socializing takes a backseat to nostalgic or sentimental memories and quiet nights at home. Food and family become very important at this time, as they provide us an opportunity to care for one another and give us the most basic and unconditional of loves -- the very thing we need most right now.  This is a good time for taking personal relationships to more substantial, serious levels, crashing on the couch and looking through old photo albums and scrapbooks, and for performing nurturing, domestic activities like cooking or gardening.

As for the Solstice, Sol + stice comes from a combination of Latin words meaning "sun" + "to stand still." As the days lengthen, the sun rises higher and higher until it seems to stand still in the sky. As a major heavenly happening, the Summer Solstice brings us the longest day and the shortest night of the year.  Awed by the great power of the sun, the giver of life, civilizations have for centuries celebrated this first day of summer, also called Midsummer, St. John's Day, or Litha.  Many celebrate with dancing & bonfires (although I my living room) to help increase the sun's energy. Druids celebrate this as the "wedding of Heaven and Earth", resulting in the present day belief of a "lucky" wedding in June. Pagans called the Midsummer moon the "Honey Moon" because of the mead made from fermented honey that was part of wedding ceremonies performed at the Summer Solstice. Litha is thought to be a time of magic, when evil spirits were said to appear. To thwart them, celebrants wear lei or garlands of flowers and herbs.

Thursday, June 24th – Mercury squares Saturn and trines Neptune.  Feeling this good is usually associated with illegal activities. It doesn't happen often, so enjoy it. While you're grinning at anyone and anything handy, you might also keep in mind that you can accomplish a lot if you jot down all the inevitable inspirations you'll be receiving.  Not everyone agrees with your view of life. Remember your mom telling you that if you had nothing nice to say, you should just be quiet?  Silence really is golden.  Keep that in mind if it begins to seem like everyone you've ever disliked or disagreed with has chosen today to show up and irritate you all over again. Don't expect your schedule to go even remotely as you'd planned it to. Instead, expect roadblocks, delays, and unseen obstacles. That way, at least you won't be disappointed, too.

Friday, June 25th – Mercury enters Cancer and squares Uranus.   You place importance on communication within the family. Information about your family and its background, heritage, and lineage is also important to you. For instance, you may like to collect family photos or study family history. You look after yourself and others by communicating emotional issues. Feelings may have a strong effect on thinking during this transit.  Try not to be too sarcastic if something happens.  This is a time when you can have flashes of insight, but you also may tend to be scatterbrained.  This is not a good time to be understood, so you may want to hold off presenting your ideas for the time being.  Your ideas and communications may not be well-received as perhaps others think they are too hair-brained, inconsistent, or simply not conventional enough. Your mind is neither peaceful nor harmonious under this influence, and irritable tempers, acerbic speech, and dogmatism are negative expressions of this energy, whether they comes out of your mouth or someone else’s.  Unfortunately, your mouth is the only one you can control.  It is a challenge to deal with routine matters or monotonous tasks under this influence. Chores may be left undone or interrupted. That inner tension you're feeling? The stuff that's making you absolutely wired, even if you haven't had anything stronger than decaf for months? Don't fight it. You can get an awful lot done when you're feeling the stress of an impending deadline. Even if you don't have one, pretend.

Saturday, June 26th – Full Moon and Partial Lunar Eclipse in Capricorn/Cancer, with Jupiter and retrograde Pluto energizing the opposition and activating a Grand Cross involving the Sun, Moon, Mercury, Jupiter, Uranus, and Saturn all within five degrees of the four cardinal points.  Even if you can’t see an eclipse in the sky where you live, these celestial events are renowned for being very powerful in the way in which they can impact our lives.

A Full Moon Lunar Eclipse denotes a time when things come to completion. It foretells an auspicious time to let go of whatever is old, be it a possession, a habit, a restrictive belief, or a relationship that doesn’t serve our highest good. In addition, eclipses bring a marvelous prospect for outward manifestation with life-changing events—sometimes expected, sometimes not—often happening around this time.

This month’s Full Moon falls at 4 degrees of Cancer (Sun opposition Pluto) and Capricorn (Moon conjoined to Pluto). If you have planets or pivotal points, such as the Ascendant/Descendant or Nadir/Midheaven around this degree in Cancer, Capricorn, Aries, or Libra—it may impact you more intensely. Also, look at what houses in your personal chart that the eclipse falls in, as these represent arenas of your life that will hold special import over the next six months or so.

You are more given to emotional extremes, and you have an "all or nothing" attitude. Emotional entanglements and power plots are possible now, although some of these could only be happening in your mind, not in realty.  Avoid a "you are either for me or against me" attitude. You could be driven now to alter your living environment, your relationships, or your business. It's a good time to quit a bad habit, as you have more guts than usual. It will be easy to get your way through manipulation, coercion or deceit, but remember -- you won't enjoy anything you gain if you know you didn't come by it fairly.  This aspect marks a major growth period in your life in which you struggle with the buried facets of your personality and ego as you learn to accept, change, or face them. You may act in a controlling, jealous, or overbearing manner, which can push others away. It is hard to let go and surrendering to the idea that some things cannot be directed or controlled. Your behavior may be irrational or obsessive; or you may experience these traits coming from someone else, especially a male. Either way, you are discovering how to detach and let go.  Can you adopt a "what will be, will be" attitude?   Pluto oppositions to the Sun challenge us to face up to unexpressed or under-expressed traits of our Sun sign, house, and aspects. We discover our own power and strength, and re-work our sense of identity and self. Look for Leo in your natal chart, as the Sun rules Leo, and this is an area of life that will be directly affected by the transit, in addition to the house where the transit actually takes place.

A career or project may come to a critical point. Also, issues of security may be brought to the forefront during the Cancer/Capricorn Full Moon. It prompts us to look at our life through the lens of the questions, “Where do I feel at home?” and “How can I feel safe and secure regardless of where I am?” In practical Capricorn fashion, these aren’t light-hearted questions, and they demand answers which can provide us with the insight to live an integrated and productive life.

Cancer is related with the stomach, sinuses, body fluids, and breasts while Capricorn is linked with the skin, skeletal system, and joints. Pay extra attention to these parts of the body around the time of this Full Moon.

With this Full Moon, we are reminded that while the past is important, it’s vital not to wallow in it. What happened before may be an integral part of who you are, true, but don’t let old baggage weigh you down and keep you from enjoying the present day. “Be here now,” as Ram Dass is noted for saying and recognize that that which you may have inherited is only one facet of you, one that you can channel to help you construct your own personal legacy.

Sunday, June 27th – Mercury opposite Pluto.    It will be a waste of time to try to bulldoze your way through, under or over an obstacle.  “Focused” is the best word that comes to mind when describing your current mood. But then, another phrase that might work is “as unwavering as a rabid pit bull.”  Not offending anyone could be tricky. That goes double for those hapless individuals who have earned your wrath in the recent past.  Concentrate on your affection for your paycheck.  You might want to think about taking a day or two away from anyone you really care about, especially if that someone has been insisting that you dialogue about a sore subject. If not, they'll definitely be getting more than they bargained for. Why alienate them? Make your excuses until you feel less ... touchy.  You're capable of talking anyone into anything but since you know that, do the right thing. Don't open your mouth unless it will be beneficial -- and pleasurable -- for you both.  Also, Saturn quincunx Neptune.    If someone has special needs or attention, you may have to sacrifice your plans.   Areas of your life which you thought were ideal may start to crumble, and if you are not careful, this can undermine your self-esteem. Give yourself a breather, and don't be too self-critical. Other people are only too glad to oblige you with criticism.   It is simply that some parts of your life need to dissolve so that you can take on new directions. It is important that you assume a "go-with-the-flow" attitude.  Spiritual studies, tree hugging, walking the shoreline to feel the healing waters, otherwise communing with nature, and soothing music could be helpful and healing during this process.

What a month!  This is a tough time for all of us.  Four of the five big dudes of the zodiac are in a colossal, nasty fracas.  The smaller, faster dudettes add to the commotion.  Stay at home and hire a team of Navy Seals to protect your borders.

2010: The Year of the Metal White Tiger

By Cheryl Niggle, Serendipity Riches

2/14/2010 - 2/02/2011

2010 is the Year of Tiger and it will arrive on February 14, 2010. Many people are eager to know if they will have better luck in the coming year than in 2009. Here, we use Chinese Astrology’s Five Elements (Metal, Water, Wood, Fire and Earth) to divine fortunes in 2010.

Tiger Gold is related to metal and money. People who want wealth will say that 2010 is a Golden Tiger year. In the Five Elements, though, the color representing metal is corresponds to the symbol for jinx in China and some might consider that 2010 White Tiger is a bad year, but I don’t subscribe to that theory.

February 14, 2010, is the first day of the lunar New Year and is also Valentine's Day, so it is a day on which the West celebrates as a day a day of love and romance.  To the Chinese, it is the start of the Tiger Year.  The Tiger is the third sign in the cycle of the Chinese Zodiac, which consists of 12 animal signs.  It is a sign of bravery and courage. This fearless, fiery feline is honored by the ancient Chinese as the sign that wards off the three main calamities of a household: fire, filchers, and phantasms.  On New Year's Day itself, it is auspicious to celebrate, to be happy, to smile, and to abstain from frowning, arguing, or criticizing others.

Tiger Years

2/08/1902 to 1/28/1903 (Water),  1/26/1914 to 2/13/1915 (Wood), 2/13/1926 to 2/01/1927 (Fire), 1/31/1938 to 2/18/1939 (Earth), 2/17/1950 to 2/05/1951 (Metal), 2/05/1962 to 1/24/1963 (Water), 1/23/1974  to 2/10/1975 (Wood),   2/09/1986 to 1/28/1987 (Fire), 1/28/1998 to 2/15/1999 (Earth), and now, 2/14/2010 to 2/02/2011 (Metal)

What is a Tiger?

The Tiger is one of the most stunningly gorgeous critters on earth, dreaded and venerated in equal measure.  It is featured in many Asian cultures as a manifestation of daring, muscle, fury, and monarchs.  In the area of Feng Shui, the White Tiger is one of the four celestial creatures, the other three being the Green Dragon, the Red Phoenix, and the Black Tortoise.  The Tiger symbolizes the female Yin energy as opposed to the male Yang energy of the Dragon.  The ancient Chinese believe that the markings on the forehead of tigers resemble the Chinese character for "Wang", or King/Ruler.  In Imperial China, where the dragon is the symbol of the emperors, the tiger is the military emblem of the highest supreme commanders of the army.  It symbolizes fearlessness and victory.  The Tiger also represents earth while the dragon represents Heaven.  The powerful and stealthy dexterity of the Tiger inspire the movements of some martial arts masters.

The Sign of the Tiger

Tigers are courageous, active, and self-confident, as well as optimistic, passionate, and self-determining.  They are also rebellious, energetic, capricious, and quick tempered.  Tigers can be affectionate but as anyone who has worked in a zoo, as I have, quickly learned, you don’t get in their territory.  The Tiger is a natural born leader and stands for power, passion, and boldness.

People born in the Year of the Tiger are usually popular because of their endearing personalities.  They like water but hate to sail, and are often over-achievers.  Criticism or judgments from loved ones can bring out a negative Tiger reaction.

Tigers are hugely competitive and love a challenge.  They may seem to be cool and collected but are so unpredictable that it is really stupid to underestimate their reactions.  Natural leaders, they have an indelible sense of their own dignity.  They are intelligent, vigilant, and visionary.  Excellent planners and strategists, they often have a hidden agenda.  As long as they do not tempt fate too often and keep their impetuous side in check, they will enjoy success and happiness.

People born in the Year of the Tiger are direct and candid in nature. They will never give up, no matter how dismal the outlook.  They are also suspicious and sometimes hurried in their actions.  Tigers should take life a little easier and to pace themselves to keep active longer and to prevent periodic burnout.  They are blessed with elasticity and usually recover quickly from illness or disease.

Tiger are gentle and full of empathy, consideration, and sympathy.  They are usually kind, friendly, love babies and youngsters, and things that stimulate their imagination.  At times, they can be obstinate and egotistical.  As a rule, those born in the Year of the Tiger are playful, enthusiastic, adventuresome, and mercurial.

Tigers take pride in being special, different than others, and original. Their homes are showplaces, often filled with exotic materials.  They are quick learners, rise to challenges, and usually like to work alone.  They may change professions often because they get bored easily.  They perform best when working towards positions of power, prestige, and influence.  They spend money easily as well as share generously.

It is interesting that their two main features are rashness and hesitation, a pair of contradictions. If they know how to relax and do things according to the situation, they can become quite successful.

Famous Tiger People:  David Attenborough, Richard Branson, Barbara Brennan, Agatha Christie, Tom Cruise, Penelope Cruz, Fern G. Fern, Thich Nat Hang,  Jodie Foster, Crystal Gayle, Cindy Kenny, Elizabeth Kubler-Ross, Marilyn Monroe, Mary Queen of Scots, Lady Chaun McCan, Demi Moore, Rosie O'Donnell, Queen Elizabeth II, Diana Rigg, Robert Schuller, Hilary Swank, Norma Shearer, Cybill Shepherd, and Rhiannon Sniffen.

What Should We Expect This Year?

In this Year of the Tiger, theatrics, drama, change, and travel are keywords.  Regrettably, we may see more global conflicts and disasters. New inventions and medical and technological advances Darn, I don’t eve n have Twitter year.  Everything will in a New York minute and in a dramatic fashion.

The Rat Forecast for 2010

Rats mat be exhausted after a tumultuous 2009, which just saw them keeping their heads above water this year will be fast-paced but productive, although Rats might like a slower pace. It s vital tat tey7 go with the flow and take what comes in stride.  Travel s on the horizon in 2010. Professional and career choices can be very good this year, as could romantic opportunities in the summertime.    Be extra considerate and caring with loved ones throughout the year.

The Ox Forecast for 2010

Oxen like to plan so that everything comes together at the designated time.  This is too bad because this year will be very unpredictable and at a lightening speed for Oxen to truly feel comfortable.  They are best advised to go with the flow and see change as a good thing, not a potential disaster.  Pick up a hobby or pastime in order to spend time artistically and productively.  Redecorate or renovate the home environment to make a great little rat’s nest for yourself.

The Tiger Forecast for 2010

This is your year, O Striped One!  It holds wonderful promise, with exhilarating professional and personal developments abounding.  Leave the past 2009 disappointments behind and look to the exciting future.  Financially, the sky is the limit, so keep your eyes open for new and renewed opportunities for monetary success.  Also, be at your most creative in dreaming up money-making ideas, but take your time in investing rather than rushing head-long into a project or venture.  If you’re looking for friendship or even romance, both could appear on your agenda during this, your special year.

The Rabbit Forecast for 2010

Job, career, and professional status and upgrades are on the rabbit’s agenda this year.  A promotion and/or bonus may come out of the blue. Travel is possible, too, both for work-related reasons and for personal pleasure.  Tiger’s quickness may make you tired and fuzzy-headed this year, so pace yourself to avoid exhaustion or poor health.  Current living changes may seem inevitable and even undesirable, but chances are you will be moving to a better and more comfortable environment.  Friends may need extra-special care during this time, so see how you can accommodate them.

The Dragon Forecast for 2010

Dragons can keep up easily with the Tiger’s speed, so this should be a time of expansion, opportunities, and openings that are too good to pass up.  Keep your little lizard eyes wide open! Working well with others is a key theme this year, so be open to taking on a work partner or investor if that helps a venture come to fruition.  Financial security and monetary increases should be coming up roses this year so after you have saved a reasonable amount for a rainy day, use the overflow to do something nice for yourself and a special someone.  Curb impulse buys, though, or you could be breathing fire on credit card companies that raise your interest rates.

The Snake Forecast for 2010

Snakes are slow, silent, and steady and may get swept away in the torrent of Tiger speed.  So what?  The rapid ride could be exhilarating.  Adapt and try to keep up.  Careerwise, you will have some competition so you need to be ready to coil and strike on a moment’s notice.  Competition aside, teamwork with co-workers will pay off handsomely.  Time and energy focused on loved ones and family situations will also be justly rewarded.  The second half of the year is excellent for solo snakes to hook up with a special romantic partner.

The Horse Forecast for 2010

Stimulating!  Energetic! Fast-paced!  Horses will be full gallop this year.  On the domestic scene, people will be coming and going in the house and you’ll rarely know who you’re sitting down to breakfast with.  Socially, you’ll be in high demand for parties, events, and get-togethers.  Go to the parties and barbeques and tailgates, to be sure, but keep an eye on your diet and make sure you get plenty of rest in between managing your incredible social calendar.   Follow up on all new job leads when you hear about them.  Even if you’re not really looking for a new work place, one of these might just pan out as the answer to your secret desire as well as provide more financial security.

The Goat Forecast for 2010

Goat likes to be balanced and a Tiger Year is good for this because Goat will see previously-hidden strengths and talents that he didn’t know he possessed.  Goat will reach new heights and expressions of artistry and creativity.  Opportunities for new ventures and increased job possibilities are on deck for this year.   In employment areas, life may be stifling as the year dawns but summertime will bring new chances for advancement either on the current work scene or in a brand new one -- and with this, financial upgrades are not far behind.  As of autumn, your career prospects are sizzling! This year is not good for taking monetary risks, but excellent for accruing funds.

The Rooster Forecast for 2010

Rooster needs to stay calm, confident, watchful, and adaptable to make the best of this Tiger year.  With exertion of these qualities, Rooster will become smarter, tougher, and truly successful by 2011.  He will be in demand for his perceptive guidance and knowledge both at work and in his personal life.  This might be a year in which Rooster changes not only his place of work but perhaps his profession itself, and he may decide to go for higher education to support this change of commercial venture.  Be careful not to overload the plate as a result of ambition or poor health or exhaustion could result.

The Dog Forecast for 2010

Tiger is an excellent year for the Dog to get ahead, and he should see a momentous enhancement in fortune.  He should resolve to rid himself of old baggage that he is dragging along, and move forward with confidence and optimism.  Be sure to seek good counseling from someone respected, and take pains not to focus on negativity and problems, but rather on positive solutions.  This is the Dog’s year to excel, and he will find it easy to make solid and supportive new personal companions and business colleagues.  The Dog needs to keep his eyes and ears open for potentially good deals that will increase his status and fill his pockets.

The Pig Forecast for 2010

The Pig may feel some financial anxiety this year but with sensible budgeting and spending, he should be able to keep his monetary footing.  In this Tiger year, the Pig needs to be less gullible and more circumspect with people, especially with those he doesn’t know well – Mom always warned us with the old line, “If it looks too good to be true, it is too really good to be true.” The last six months of the year will be very social with parties and fun get-togethers galore.  Take the time to relax and recharge the batteries.

The Monkey Forecast for 2010

The Monkey’s dynamic nature resonates well with the energy of the white Tiger year – but he needs to pace himself or he could crash and burn.  Changes in his job area could surprise him near the start of the year, but by calmly flexible, he should emerge a winner in the office olympics. He is well advised to take a well-deserved breather around mid-year as he needs a break from work pressure. Romantic encounters should please both single primates as well as married ones.  Monkeys will appreciate the support this year from loved ones and friends.

And for the Western Zodiac…

Aries, this year of the Tiger oversees a transitory period, part of an ongoing long journey to more awareness and success. The white Tiger year guarantees more accomplishment than year.  Even so, don't get your hopes up that you can coast and still make headway.  Your full achievements will come from setting goals and seeing them through with persistence, self-control, self- restraint, and conscientiousness. International business travel and communication with foreign partners will be auspicious. This year, Aries should look to upgrading professional performance. The fall and winter months are best for learning new skills and gaining more formal knowledge.

Taurus should be happily occupied mostly with home, family, and close relatives. This year, you might it prudent to re-establish good relations and resolve issues with those you’ve had a falling out. A rift with family, especially with parents or other authority figures is possible, especially from summer on. This will not be serious if you are conciliatory and flexible.  An inheritance or legacy may be possible if you play your cards right. You should also be lucky in love as well as monetary fortune this year. Repairs or renovation in your residence might be in order, but be safe by hiring professionals rather relying on a fly-by-night, under-the-table contractor.

Gemini
might find usual events more private and scripted his year than last, but the Tiger year is great for meditation, inward thought, and restraint of impulses.  So non-typical of bright and effervescent Twins.   Your contacts will be restricted primarily to business connections rather than social ones. Long-distance travel may not bring you the pleasure it usually does, but outings closer to home are very promising. A Tiger year is a marvelous opportunity to ponder your future and put your thoughts and sentiments in order.

Cancer will be even more involved in domestic matters in this year of the Tiger, even to the point of taking over budgeting and bookkeeping chores.   Cancer is known as a generous sign, but you might want to restrict the free-handedness a bit in order to conserve money for a new venture or for unexpected home necessities.  It is good to set aside a little something for a rainy day, even if we’re having a drought in Hawaii.  You might also try harder keep to a diet, cleanse their innards, and perhaps drop a few unwanted pounds.

Leo might find a peasant turnaround from last year, and the contented and welcome following seas bode well for happiness and success.  You’ll find some great opportunities to show off your skills and talents, even if they have been dormant for some time.  Don’t be surprised when a sudden run of good luck comes up – just enjoy it.  You might even have some gambling luck, perhaps at a lottery or roulette.  You might also find some new pals or increase your circle of associates.  And, a devoted, adoring partner might worm his or her way into your heart, too.

Virgo carries a weighty workload in this year of the Tiger, and your professional responsibilities may cause disputes with neglected family members. While you are slaving away to keep family members in a financially secure environment, your overexertion may not be appreciated if it keeps you out of the house too much.   If you sense that a change of pace would still benefit your finances and domestic relationships, use your ability of discernment to smooth out disputes in your life.

Libra will have a great chance to organize plans and projects in this New Year.  Among the striking options will be some soul- stimulating ones -- and they are calling your name.  Every move should be thought over carefully and proceeded with systematically, but those are commonplace actions for your logical self.  You’re pretty much on your own this year, too. As much as you like to have harmonious relations, those around you may have left their book on etiquette in the car when they come to see you.  Try your best to forgive them.  It’s really no big whoop, plus you’ll get bonus points for letting them slide.

Scorpio will spend most of the white Tiger year making money hand over fist. Follow your inner guidance on how handle the bunch of personal and professional big breaks that are flying through your window now.  And remember – no gamble, no glory.  Your income and net worth will be on the rise until at least November. Your artistry in the fields of writing and music should be markedly more prominent this year, too, and this promises self-satisfaction as well as possible success with an admiring audience.  You may want to allocate some time to attain more education, perhaps in the form of an art or crafts class.  Find out how best to work around someone else’s restrictions on you so you have time for all of your entertaining projects.

Sagittarius will see career or business aspirations on the rise when the Tiger year brings a huge energetic splash to his life.  You will be confident in your abilities and have an insatiable drive to keep active.  Make sure that you and partners pace yourself, though, and you’ll have get-up-ad-go when they are glassy-eyed and slumped over their keyboards at 2:00 AM.  Everything you attempt to do should turn out well, even without their help. Considering moving your job to a different city with tempting career perspectives might be a good move, too.  The commute will be longer, true, but the rewards will speak for themselves.

Capricorn needs to make sure all bases are covered this feline year.  Before too many of the New Year’s days are past, you might run into a deadline crunch time when that person you have been relying upon is dependable only in their undependability.  Someone you trust may not be exactly as they present to be, but don’t their errors or limitations unduly affect you. You have already accomplished most of the goals you set in 2009.  You don’t want to lose momentum so you need to keep your focus and not be distracted by trying to clean up this other person’s mess.  There may be new job and search for new sources of income in store, too, and you should have no trouble finding fresh fields of endeavor.  Always cautious, Caps can achieve reasonable income upgrades and cost savings through painstaking planning and execution of goals.

Aquarius can come to resolution on a cycle of transformation that has been going on in stages for several years. Focus your energy on those ventures that genuinely enthuse you and you alone.  You’ve been a silver medalist for years because you’ve been busy helping others at your expense, but this is your gold-medal year and your attention needs to be on what is best for you.  Attempting to be all things to all people doesn’t work when you need to cross the finish line first.  You may end up becoming a political activist or event work your way into top management in your company with the help of mentors in high positions.

Pisces is required to be firm and decisive in the year of the Tiger, which is fairly untypical for wiggly fish. Here’s a pleasant surprise: you can relax and drift and still find success and prosperity if you tune into your spiritual guidance or prophet tic dreams and bring this advice back to this-world’s decisions.  Guard your physical health this year, as you are fatigued from last year’s efforts – make sure you get enough sleep and eat in a healthy fashion.  Your need for privacy and peaceful surroundings should be granted now, yet the year also promises to have fun social outings that can bring you new friends and supporters as well as financial goldmines.
